Welcome!!
Hi y’all! I’m Lauren Meece, a recent Baylor University graduate with a BFA in Theatre Performance, concentrating in Musical Theatre, and a minor in Creative Writing. I made the big move to New York City in January 2025 (with a brief hiatus to join Hope Musical Theatre’s summer productions in San Francisco, California) and just had my stage debut here with “Diss Tracks: The Cabaret” at the Reverie Room!
Originally from Dallas, TX, theatre runs in my blood. It’s truly the Meece family business! With grandparents who are producer-directors and an aunt and uncle who are professional performers, I’ve been lucky to grow up surrounded by creativity and passion, which sparked my love for storytelling early on (I debuted as baby Jesus for my breakout role, December 2001).
Over the past few years, I’ve worn many hats- acting in everything from fresh new plays to concert musicals, both traditional and devised theatre, and even diving into immersive and avant-garde projects. I’ve been honored to win two back-to-back Betty Buckley Awards for Best Actor in a Play (2019 and 2020), and work on many wonderful film projects, from student shorts to Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2.
I’m also a proud Guerrilla Troupe alum, spending two years sharpening my improv skills, and I write and perform my own stand-up comedy, because laughter really is the best way to connect. Recently, I had a blast recording several tracks at Milo and Rachel’s Sound Kitchen Studios in Dallas, and I’ve enjoyed performing with the Historic Savannah Theatre, collaborating on some truly wonderful productions.
Now, I’m calling Brooklyn home, and I’m energized, inspired, and ready to keep growing as an actor, writer, and collaborator in this incredible city!!
